The Strines Inn

Bradfield Dale, BRADFIELD, Sheffield, S6 6JE

Strines is an old English word meaning 'the meeting of waters', and this popular free house overlooks Strines Reservoir. Although it was built as a manor house in the 13th century, most of the present building is 16th century and it has been an inn since 1771. Traditional home-made fare ranges from sandwiches and salads, to 'giant' Yorkshire puddings with a choice of fillings and a pie of the day. There is an enclosed play area and a separate area for peacocks, geese and chickens, which roam freely.
