The Bakers Arms

The Green, BLABY, LE8 4FQ

When neighbouring All Saints Church was under construction in 1485 its builders needed a hostel, so they built what about half a millennium later became Ye Olde Bakers Arms. Its bakehouse, last used in the 1920s, still features the original ovens. Bar snacks are written on chalk boards; restaurant dishes include halibut bouillabaisse; stuffed parcel of Norfolk turkey breast; blade of Leicestershire beef; and butternut squash and Stilton Wellington. Sharing slates include 'Seaside' and antipasti. It's an Everard's house, so expect the Leicester brewery's Tiger and Beacon real ales, while also from the county comes Bottle Kicking cider.
