Rest your weary feet in sumptuous armchairs with a pint of well-kept real ale such as Black Sheep or Timothy Taylor Landlord and a wide selection of wines. At lunchtime, choose between tempting mackerel baps and corned beef hash cake, whilst evening meals range from fresh Grimsby haddock with chips and mushy peas, to beef, ale and mushroom pie, or pork belly on sticky red cabbage.

I cannot say my lunch at the Blue Bell was a great dining experience but it was exactly what I was looking for. A decent home cooked meal accompanied by a satisfactory pint of beer. The service was, however, well above average with a pleasant smile and a cheerful word. I would recommend the pub to others.
