The Blue Bell Inn

1 Main Road, BELCHFORD, LN9 6LQ

Pantiles on the roof, white walls reflecting the sun, this family-run free house stands on the Viking Way long-distance path from the Humber to Rutland Water. Diners from all over the county are attracted by its many culinary temptations, among them smoked salmon confit fishcake; pork, chicken and pistachio terrine; apple and cranberry Lincolnshire sausages, mash and onion gravy; steak and ale casserole; and pan-fried gilt-head bream, chive buttered mash and lobster bisque. Anyone just after a glass of wine or pint of Wainfleet-brewed Batemans XXXB, Greene King IPA or a guest beer, will find plenty of armchairs to sink into.
