The Three Tuns

57 Main Road, Biddenham, BEDFORD, MK40 4BD

In a pretty village, this stone-built pub has a large garden with a patio and decking, and a separate children's play area. Owner Chris Smith worked for celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli for a number of years and now produces dishes such as white onion and cumin soup; creamy chicken, bacon and ale pot pie; and pineapple carpaccio with coconut and tarragon sorbet and lime jelly. Each dish on the la carte is matched with a recommended wine. The two-course set menu is excellent value. In the garden is a long-disused, possibly haunted, morgue, the oldest building hereabouts.
