The Grove, Houghton Conquest, BEDFORD, MK45 3LA
The Shuttleworth aeroplane collection and Bletchley Park are easily reached from this pub in a village named after the Conquest family, who lived here between the 13th and 18th centuries. The bar and All Saints Restaurant welcome customers throughout the day, every day, even for just for a pint of Wells Eagle IPA. The choice is good: starters include sharing boards, or single starters of potted shrimps and cucumber on toast; or seared scallops with cauliflower, pork belly and honey glaze: among the mains are smoked haddock risotto; nut roast Wellington; beef bourguignon; and roasted supreme of guinea fowl. Apple and pecan pie or chocolate brownie for afters.
