The Castle Arms Inn

Meadow Lane, Snape, BEDALE, DL8 2TB

In the sleepy village of Snape, this family-run 18th-century pub is a good starting point for walking and cycling, and visiting local stately homes, castles and film locations. The homely interior has exposed beams and horse brasses and a real fire in the bar, home to Ringwood and Brakspear real ales. A meal in the restaurant selected from the ever-changing menu might feature smoked salmon salad; beer battered king prawns with hand-cut chunky chips; and apple crumble for dessert. Afterwards, there is a range of liqueur coffees to tempt you.
