The Milburys

BEAUWORTH, Alresford, SO24 0PB

Dating from the 17th century and taking its name from the Bronze Age barrow nearby, this rustic hill-top pub is noted for its massive, 250-year-old treadmill that used to draw water from the 300-ft well in the bar. In summer, sweeping views across Hampshire can be savoured from the lofty garden. Inside you will find a great selection of real ales which you can enjoy by the warming winter fires. Traditional pub food, such as steak and ale pie and battered cod, is served all week in the bar and restaurant. There's a skittle alley, and car, motor cycle and caravan rallies are held here.
