The Hop Pole

7 Albion Buildings, Upper Bristol Road, BATH, BA1 3AR

A delightful pub in a great setting, just off the River Avon towpath and opposite Royal Victoria Park. Described as both 'a country pub in the heart of a city', and as a 'secret oasis', it has a stripped-down, stylish interior and a spacious beer garden with a grapevine canopy. Bath Ales supplies many beers from its stable - here you'll find Barnsey, Gem and Special Pale Ale. Home cooked food is the order of the day, from bar snacks to main meals such as slow-roast gammon with fried eggs, 'proper chips' and pineapple chutney; free-range chicken, mushroom and bacon pie; market fish of the day fresh from the West Country; and wild mushroom and roast winter squash Wellington, braised hispi cabbage and new potatoes.
