The Red Pump Inn
Description
'Three miles from Clitheroe, a million miles from hectic' is the promise of this friendly old inn. The pub was built in 1756 and restored by owners Jon and Martina Myerscough. Drinking and eating areas divide into a bar, a snug with real fire, a large dining room and a rather special coach house café and deli. Local, regional and national cask-conditioned ales make this a true beer-lover's paradise; wines old and new suit every pocket and taste, with more than ten served by the glass. The menu makes impressive use of local produce, including hare, pheasant, venison, and partridge. Extra-matured local beef comes into its own on weekly steak nights, and Fridays see a celebration of fish and seafood in dishes such as potted crayfish tails; calamari with aļoli; and fresh hake, sea bass and snapper feature regularly. Bread and preserves are home made, herbs come from the garden, and a vegetable plot is underway that will eventually make the restaurant self-sufficient.

Visited with my grand-daughters after a recommendation. Absolutely top class food, excellent fish dishes and a superb choice of local beef. Childrens menu very good with small ribeye steak a winner with my girls. Will definately return and will stay next time in their gorgeous accommodation.
