The George & Dragon Inn

The George & Dragon Inn is a 17th-century Grade II listed building in a superb location in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, near the beautiful Aysgarth Falls. The area is perfect for walking, touring and visiting local attractions, including Forbidden Corner, the Wensleydale Railway, and the cheese factory. The owners are proud to continue a centuries-long tradition of Yorkshire hospitality at the inn, with customers keeping cosy in winter by the fireside, and in summer enjoying their drinks and meals out on the furnished flower-filled patio. Well-kept real ales are served, and the inn has a great reputation for its traditional food, including steak pie and fish and chips. In the early evening a fixed-price menu meets the needs of ravenous walkers, while a broader à la carte choice comes into force after 7pm. Choices could be home-made chicken liver pâté with apple chutney; Wensleydale pork sausages and mash; or braised pork belly, mash, choucroute and cider reduction.
