3 High Street, ASHBURY, SN6 8NA
In the heart of the historic village of Ashbury, The Rose & Crown dates back to the 16th century when it was a coaching inn. Refurbished in 2013, it still retains plenty of original features including open fires and the patio terrace is a real draw in the summer. Local produce drives the menu, with typical dishes including Wiltshire ham, hand-cut chips and fried eggs; linguine with prawns, squid, chilli, garlic, tomato and basil; or curry of the day. Walkers exploring the nearby Ridgeway National Trail can refuel with a glass of Arkell's Wiltshire Gold, and dogs are welcome to join their owners in the bar.
