In summer the sheltered garden makes a fine spot to enjoy real ales and varied choice of food; in the cooler months there is the cosy bar and warming fires. The kitchen brigade produces dishes like venison and mushroom pudding, seared calves' liver on bubble and squeak, and beef stew and dumplings.
