Bulls Head Inn

High Street, ALTON, ST10 4AQ

This family-run 17th-century coaching inn is situated less than a mile from Alton Towers theme park. Oak beams and an inglenook fireplace set the scene for the old-world bar, and the country-style dining room with its pine furniture and slate floor. Serving a selection of real ales from three handpumps, the main courses on the menu might include baked chicken supreme with wild mushroom and white wine sauce; home-made cottage pie; and curry or pie of the day; plus succulent steaks.

booked a family room over the phone and agreed a price, the remnants of the last occupants chinese on the floor, lights not working, drawer handles fallen off revealing sharp screws, nails and screws left in drawers, shaver points not working, tv not working, damp, plug in sink too small, no slip mat for children in bath, sticky carpets whole place needs a good clean, locals take preference with parking and then tried to charge us a different price as to what was agreed
