Old Blackfriars

52 Castle Street, ABERDEEN, AB11 5BB

Situated in Aberdeen's historic Castlegate, this traditional split-level city centre pub stands on the site of property owned by Blackfriars Dominican monks, hence the name. Inside you'll find stunning stained glass, plus well-kept real ales (five hand pumps) and a large selection of malt whiskies. The pub is also renowned for good food and an unobtrusive atmosphere. The wide-ranging menu has all the pub favourites and more - haggis bon bons; chicken satay skewers; black bean and jalapeņo burger; and chilli burritos. There's a weekly quiz on Tuesdays and live music every Thursday.
