Old Blackfriars

52 Castle Street, ABERDEEN, AB11 5BB

Situated in Aberdeen's historic Castlegate, this traditional split-level city centre pub stands on the site of property owned by Blackfriars Dominican monks, hence the name. Inside you'll find stunning stained glass, plus well kept real ales (nine handpumps) and a large selection of malt whiskies. The pub is also renowned for excellent food and an unobtrusive atmosphere (no background music and no television). The wide ranging menu has all the pub favourites and more - chicken Balmoral, chicken tikka makhani, sweet potato curry and baked lasagne. There is a weekly quiz and live music every Friday.
