AA Safety Camera app turns your smartphone into a live safety camera warning system
The AA Safety Camera app turns your smartphone into a live safety camera warning system. Audio and visual alerts are given for all types of fixed camera as well as live mobile camera sites across Great Britain.
The new app provides a simple, clear user interface with regularly updated data. The fixed safety camera alerts are directional and also flag up the associated speed limit for the road.
Users also receive warnings for average speed cameras and when entering the London congestion charge zone.
safety camera warning systems such as this app enhance road safety
Edmund King, AA president
Edmund King, President of the AA, said, “We believe safety camera warning systems such as this app enhance road safety. They act as a reminder of the speed limits and warn motorists when they are approaching a dangerous stretch of road, creating greater awareness of the hazards ahead.”
The AA Safety Camera App is powered by RoadPilot’s Omni database. Each fixed camera site in the database is physically surveyed to ensure total accuracy of information. The app is available for download from iTunes and the Android store.
The initial free download provides a 30-day discovery period which is followed by an ‘in app purchase’ for either £2.99 for one month, £9.99 for one year or £19.99 for three years.
Continuous use of GPS whilst driving will reduce smart phone battery life. It is therefore recommended to charge your smartphone whilst in use.
