Money Programme, 8 June

AA response

The BBC Money Programme on the AA on Friday, June 8, omitted a number of important facts about the service we as an organisation provide to our 15 million members.

The AA's investment in improving service means that over the last three years we have the highest repair rate in the industry, fixing eight out of ten breakdowns at the roadside.

Over 90 per cent of breakdowns are completed by the patrol which first attends.

98 per cent of our members would recommend us to family and friends.

Our service has been reorganised so that we meet members' needs – our patrols and call centre staff are there when members want them.

By highlighting wholly exceptional cases where problems had arisen, the BBC presented an unrepresentative view of the AA's service.
