Macmillan 4x4 UK Challenge
AA supporting endurance event in aid of cancer charity
4 March 2009

Two of the AA's specialist Land Rovers will be supporting competitors on this weekend's (6-8 March) Macmillan 4x4 UK Challenge – a long-distance four-wheel drive navigational endurance event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The annual event – which starts in the West Midlands and covers up to 1,000 miles in less than three days – tests navigational skills, observation, on- and off-road driving ability and endurance by day and night. It currently raises £100,000 every year with all the sponsorship money going to help people affected by cancer.
The AA Land Rovers will be manned by patrols Gavin Webb and Mark Breakwell and area manager Darron Burness who will provide technical advice and breakdown support. Darron says: "With 60 teams taking part, it could be a busy weekend, but we're raring to go and look forward to keeping the teams going so they raise lots of money for a great cause."
The AA has also created a fundraising page for the event »
