Golf Road, Winchestown, NANTYGLO, NP23 4QT
Established in 1906, this mountain and heathland course was officially designated by the Guinness Book of Records as being the highest above sea level in Great Britain and Ireland - the 14th tee is at a height of 1,513ft. The course has beautiful views of the Brecon Beacons National Park and five counties can be seen on clear days. It has many natural hazards that prove very challenging and are not for the fainthearted. Holes 3, 7 and 13 are all long and usually play into a prevailing wind.
