Located in the 125-acre West Stow Country Park with a river, a lake, woodland and heath, plus many trails and paths and children's play areas, this interesting centre on the site of an excavated pagan Anglo-Saxon settlement makes a fine day out. The village is a reconstruction of the settlement, which dates from around ad 420-650. There are seven buildings on the site, including the Anglo-Saxon Centre displaying some of the finds, such as tools and pots, unearthed here. The visitor centre houses a west Suffolk archaeology exhibition. A full programme of special events runs throughout the year.
