The Palace Trust, WELLS, BA5 2PD
The Bishop's Palace is at the heart of the historic city of Wells, and was home to the Bishops of Bath & Wells for over 800 years. The drawbridge leads you across the moat, under a portcullis and through the grand gatehouse to the Palace itself and the ruined 13th-century banqueting hall. There are also 14 acres of gardens, well pools (which give the city its name), a family-friendly cafe, video guides, daily guided tours and events throughout the year.
