One of the most delightful arts and crafts gardens in England, created by the horticulturist Major Lawrence Johnston and comprising a series of small gardens within the whole, separated by walls and hedges of different species. It is famous for its rare shrubs and trees, outstanding herbaceous borders and unusual worldwide plant species.
