This inn is only feet away from the Minster and was the birthplace of the notorious plotter, Guy Fawkes. Steeped in history, it is full of character and has many original features including the timber staircase, gas lighting and open fires. The bar is a real gathering place for locals and visitors to the city. The bedrooms are wonderfully appointed with antique furniture, Italian fabrics and luxury beds; some of the modern bathrooms have roll-top baths. An outside courtyard at the back of the inn provides ample space for dining and enjoying a drink.
