Defect: The vehicles brake lights may intermittently malfunction due to carbonisation of the contacts within the brake light switch. This can also affect other systems on the vehicle including: ESC cruise control gear selection (autoboxes) engine check lamp.
Action: Recall the vehicle that are likely to be affected to replace the brake light switch.

Defect: Hyundai have identified a small risk of front coil spring failing due to corrosion caused by road salt, which in some instances may result in damage to the tyre. Apparently 8 cases have been recorded, but on no occasion has a driver or passenger been injured.
Action: All models identified will be checked and depending on the results of the examination the springs may be replaced and guiders will be fitted. At the same time dealers will check the integrity of the front body welds. Some cars used in Australia have suffered from weld failures, mainly on high mileage cars and Hyundai UK are taking this opportunity to check UK cars to make sure no similar problems are being experienced.
