Defect: Faulty seals could lead to premature wear of the track rod bearings (ends) and if the warning noises are ignored it is possible that the track rod bearing pin could work loose and affect steering control.
Action: Recall vehicles in order to replace the track rod ends with ones fitted with an improved seal.

Defect: In isolated cases misfiring after a cold start can cause the air grid in the air mass meter to become detached. In the worst case, this could jam the throttle valve, causing an increase in engine speed. Fuel pipes may chafe together and/or on fuel filter.
Action: Check air mass meter and air grid and install retaining clip in air mass meter. Examine fuel pipes for chafing damage and renew or reposition and secure as appropriate.
