Defect: Due to a manufacturing issue with the front suspension lower ball joints, there is a possibility that the surface of the ball joints may have been scratched. If the vehicle is operated for an extended period of time in this condition, the ball joints may experience excessive wear and looseness, causing noise and vibration in the front suspension. In extreme cases the lower ball joints may separate from the knuckle causing a loss of vehicle steering control.
Action: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the lower suspension control arm ball joints.
