Exact Model:
VIN: 37232 TO 37571
Build Date: 19 July 1999 onwards

Action: Affected vehicles are being recalled for replacement of the original fuel lines connectors with quality assured versions.
Launch Date: 04 September 1999
Recall: No. 8 of 9
Recall Ref: R1998/050
Exact Model:
VIN: T0001 TO W3800
Build Date: June 1996 to June 1998
Numbers: 3771
Defect: Apparently it has been found that there is a very small chance that the bolt securing the rear toe-link to the rear hub carrier could work loose, resulting in the potential for unstable handling. This bolt is threaded directly into the toe-link ball joint and uses a thread locking compound to provide secondary security of the fixing. The work involves checking the thread engagement by selective shims and the correct application of the thread locking compound. Time involved for each car is 0.8hrs.
Action: Recall to rework the rear toe link fixing
Launch Date: 22 June 1998
Recall: No. 9 of 9
Recall Ref: R2000/032
Exact Model:
VIN: X 5722 TO Y 0882
Build Date: All Elise 111S prior to 1 February 2000
Numbers: 1300
Defect: There is a possibility of electromagnetic interference causing an engine misfire, with consequent exhaust emission increase, reduction in power and catalytic convertor damage. There is a small chance that a fire could result from sustained driving with a severe misfire.
Action: Recall affected vehicles for fitment of ECM electromagnetic shield
Launch Date: 10 March 2000
