The Vauxall Corsa is a strong small car with an all-round performance that protects the occupants. The driver's airbag did its job but may have reached the limit of its ability to protect in this test. The structure performed well with only relatively modest deformation of the passenger cell after the frontal impact. The side impact protection was good but marred by high loads passing up the dummy spine which would not be possible for a human body. The manufacturer also paid for an additional test on a vehicle fitted with an optional head curtain airbag which was found to be very aggressive. The protection from the child restraints was not uniformly good and the pedestrian protection was poor.
