In the frontal test there was insufficient pressure in the driver's airbag to prevent the dummy's head "bottoming-out" the airbag onto the steering wheel. There was some detachment of spotwelds in the driver's footwell area and considerable deformation which posed a risk to the driver's lower legs and ankles. Structures in the dashboard presented a risk of injury to the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. The bumper scored maximum points for the protection it offered to pedestrians' legs. However, the leading edge of the bonnet scored no points.
