Compare with other cars in the Small SUV category

The Grand Vitara is a large off road vehicle with high seating positions. The integrity of the passenger compartment was questionable. The results from the frontal test were disappointing with problems for the chest, and upper legs. In comparison the side impact performance was reasonable without a side airbag. The child restraints provided reasonable protection apart from for the 18-month-old, which had a high neck load in the frontal test. The pedestrian protection was appalling.
