The Ibiza’s structure performed well with only relatively modest deformation of the passenger cell after the frontal impact. The side impact protection was good. The manufacturer also decided to update these results by showing the benefit of the optional side impact airbag which worked well. The protection from the child restraints was good for the 3 year old but the chest and neck loads for the frontal impact for the 18 month old were relatively high. The pedestrian protection was better than average.
