The impact test results were disappointing for a new large car although it has earned a four star performance. The sill and the door pillar were judged to have become unstable in the frontal impact and the door would not fit into the opening after the test. The load on the driver's chest in both tests was on the high side. The side impact performance was good but not of the highest order. The knee impact areas were not very forgiving. The child protection offered also had failings in particular the chest loadings were high for both sizes of restraint. The pedestrian protection was poor.
