Adult occupant

The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact. Structures in the dashboard presented a risk of injury to the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. The Cube scored maximum points for its performance in the side barrier test. In the more sever side pole impact, the dummy's ribs deflections indicated marginal protection of the chest but other body regions were well protected. Marginal protection was provided against whiplash injuries in a rear-end collision.

Child occupant

The passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward facing child restraint to be used in that seating position. However, information provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag is not sufficietntly clear.

Pedestrian

The bumper scored maximum points for its protection of pedestrians' legs but the front edge of the bonnet provided predominantly poor protection. The bonnet offered good protection in most areas where a child's head might strike.

Safety assist

Electronic stability control is standard equipment on all variants, as is a speed limitation system which actively prevents the car from exceeding a speed pre-set by the driver. A seatbelt reminder system is standard for the driver and front passenger seats.
