Compare with other cars in the Small MPV category
The Vaneo is a small MPV and is a combination between the A-Class and a small van. As such it shares much of its protection with that of the A-Class. The body shell is stable and provides a safe environment for the occupants. The driver’s upper body is better protected than his lower body in frontal impact. The high seating position of the occupants helps provide good protection in side impact. The child protection system however was not good in frontal impact although the head protection in side impact was better. The very short bonnet means that the adult head impact area is partially on the windscreen which improves the protection offered to pedestrians.
