In the frontal impact components in the engine bay moved rearward in the impact causing the driver's footwell to tear and some spot welds to release. Several structures in the dashboard presented a hazard to the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. The brake pedal moved rearward by more than 100mm, posing some threat to the driver's lower legs and ankles. In the pedestrian tests the bumper and front edge of the bonnet scored no points for the protection they offered to pedestrians' legs. The part of the bonnet likely to be struck by a child's head also offered no protection. The protection offered by the bonnet to an adult's head was predominantly poor.
