The Fiesta is a four star with a very stable passenger compartment but loads on the chests were relatively high from the restraint system. Ford have worked hard on the knee impact area, but unfortunately have not been successful in clearing all the hazards. The side impact protection was reasonable and was achieved without the use of a thorax protecting airbag. Ford tells us that a new ISOFIX child protection system is soon to be introduced so those seen in this test are soon to be replaced. The pedestrian protection was better than average.
