The Harbour Inn

The humble exterior of this whitewashed inn in a pretty fishing village - with views over the harbour to the loch beyond - belies an interior which houses a sizeable modern restaurant decorated with sympathetic sophistication. The menu relies heavily on premium local produce with many of the dishes focusing around one or two key ingredients, and thus wholly dependent on this picturesque island's abundant larder, including world-class seafood and fish and fantastic cheeses. The wide variety on the menu provides an agony of choice; take medallions of monkfish served with a spinach mousseline, fresh samphire and an elderflower dressing, or perhaps prime Islay fillet steak with Lochaber haggis, mushroom duxelle and single malt sauce. (Lunch is a lighter affair.)
