Description
A deceptively simple cooking style belies the abundance of skill to be found in the kitchen at this former downland pub, but don't be fooled - expect top-notch cooking conjured from the freshest fish and seafood available. Tastefully transformed into a well-appointed hotel, there's a cosy bar and two dining areas: a formal room with red and chocolate coloured leather seating, and a more relaxed space with polished wooden tables. This former winner of the AA award for best seafood offers an extensive menu that will delight fish fanciers. Typically dishes include baked monkfish with lentils and pancetta, whole plaice with caper beurre noisette, or roast turbot with red wine jus. Finish with vanilla pannacotta and passionfruit jelly with a refreshing blackcurrant sorbet.
