Description
Converted from three Edwardian townhouses, this brasserie oozes quality with its mix of stylish good looks and period features. The swish minimalist, beige-themed décor, modern African art, stunning flower arrangements and confident, friendly service are further enhanced by a separate cocktail bar with lashings of live jazz. The accomplished kitchen impresses with execution and professionalism with both classic and original twists, while keeping things deceptively simple on crisply-scripted menus driven by quality seasonal ingredients. Expect roasted fillet of cod served with parsnip purée and a lightly curried ragout of mussels, or maybe roast loin of venison with sweet potato purée and braised red cabbage, and perhaps a cinnamon crème brûlée with molasses ice cream, or hot chocolate fondant accompanied by hazelnut ice cream to round things off in style. Excellent breads and the likes of amuse-bouche match the upbeat performance, while Sunday lunch is served up with live jazz.
