The Cuisine previously won 3 AA Rosettes. This award is temporarily suspended, as there has been a recent change of chef. The new award will be in place, once our inspectors have completed their meal assessments cooked by the new kitchen team. This attractive waterfront hotel, complete with its own sandy beach, enjoys an idyllic position overlooking the islands of Teän and Tresco. The elegant, first-floor Teän restaurant - decked out in natural tones to reflect the surroundings - has a split-level lounge where guests and diners can also enjoy those stunning views. Tables are well spaced and appointments are stylish and simple, set with seasonal flower displays. A highly accomplished kitchen team provides cuisine to match the impressive location, with daily-changing menus driven by the abundance of the local larder, particularly fish and seafood, where freshness, quality and seasonality are showcased. Expect a light modern touch that allows intense, clean flavours to shine in dishes like line-caught sea bass with butter-roasted local lobster and a pea velouté, or perhaps best end and braised shoulder of Bodmin lamb served with pea and mint purée, baby leeks and a rosemary sauce, and to finish, maybe an iced apricot parfait with toasted almond ice cream and poached apricots.
