Description
Built in 1970 as a bespoke hotel, the Atlantic is in a spectacular, peaceful position overlooking St Ouen's Bay, surrounded by sub-tropical gardens and next to the immaculate fairways of the La Moye championship golf course. Owned and run by the same family since it opened, an air of luxury and sophistication pervades throughout, including in the Ocean Restaurant. The dining room is spacious, light and stylish, and the smartly dressed staff hit the right balance between formality and friendliness. The kitchen's modern approach delivers beautifully presented dishes based on first class produce from the abundant local Jersey larder, including the fruits of the sea. The cooking is accurate, consistent, innovative, full of flavour and draws inspiration from all over the world. Start with terrine of rabbit with pickled vegetables and truffled celeriac purée followed by pot-roasted poussin with foie gras, morels and peas. Finish with milk pudding with vanilla syrup and cinnamon doughnuts or the selection of English, French and Jersey cheeses.
