The Armoury
Description
The original armoury building, abandoned in 1882, was 'moved' here from the Armoury Gardens in 1922, owing to the scarcity of building materials after World War I. It was a bakery until 1974 and thereafter a warehouse. In 1995 it was renovated, opened as a pub and renamed The Armoury. With its riverside location and large warehouse windows, it makes an impressive pub. Recent alterations have seen the place opened out into a combined restaurant and bar area, and the same menu is served throughout. Real ales include Shropshire Lad and Three Tuns Steamer.
