Description
With a peaceful setting in extensive grounds, this beautifully maintained hotel enjoys breathtaking views over Lake Windermere and the Langdale Fells. Public rooms include luxurious, comfortable lounges and two elegant dining rooms, where memorable meals are served. Bedrooms are individually styled, beautifully furnished and many have balconies or patios. Some in an adjacent, more private lodge are less traditional in design and have superb views. The professionalism and attentiveness of the staff is exemplary.

Snack on arrival. Dry bread Minimal filling. Soup served in a teacup with dirty spoons stained with congealed food. 2 glasses of champagne given by way of apology. Dinner Good. Breakfast served by waiter with B O. Service poorly timed with everything arriving out of synch. Poor coffee,stewed to death. The owners ignored my wifes email. They could learn something from B and Bs in Ireland
