Elena delivers a charming front-of-house presence, ensuring diners experience a real treat, with graceful, unhurried and professional service. Russell struts his stuff behind the scenes at the stove with equal aplomb; his elegant and well-conceived cooking parades with deft touches, beautifully balanced combinations, clear flavours and accurate seasoning. Underpinned by high quality produce, the confident cooking intelligently flourishes without over embellishment or empty bravado. Take a roast loin of Dorset lamb served with shepherd's pie, 'carrot and peas' and a lamb jus, while Russell's pastry is sublime too, so don't miss the likes of a pear tarte Tatin with clotted cream ice cream and ginger syrup.
