9-11 Bosville Terrace, PORTREE, Isle of Skye, IV51 9DG
An extended and beautifully refurbished old fisherman's cottage overlooking the pretty fishing village of Portree is the stylish setting for the Chandlery Restaurant and the Bosville's popular bar and bistro. Themed around a ships' chandlery, the restaurant is smart and modern with innovative monthly menus built around the fantastic produce to be found on Skye. John Kelly's cooking is creative and focused on flavour and starters may include venison loin on barley risotto with thyme jus and herb salad. For main course, try Mallaig halibut with herb mash, Skye oyster, mussel and saffron broth and wilted spinach, then finish, perhaps, with apple and almond flan with pink grapefruit compôte and cardamom ice cream.
