The Crown Country Inn
MUNSLOW,
Craven Arms,
SY7 9ET
The imposing three-storey Crown Inn stands in a glorious setting below the rolling hills of Wenlock Edge, in the tranquil Corve Valley near Craven Arms. Once a local court house (or Hundred House) and later a coaching inn, it features oak beams, flagstone floors and open fires, including a fine inglenook in the upstairs Corvedale Restaurant. Chef-patron Richard Arnold delivers classic English dishes in refined, modern style, championing local artisan producers. From the inventive seasonal menus, perhaps kick off with chicken liver parfait with home-made chutney and freshly-baked Tuscan bread, then follow with pork belly with sweet-and-sour red cabbage, carrot mousse, dauphinoise potatoes and a sherry vinegar and thyme jus, or rib-eye steak with straw potatoes and smoked butter. Finish with raspberry and almond Bakewell tart with raspberry coulis.

Just spent yet another superb weekend at The Crown. The food was outstanding, as usual, the breakfast first class. This time we booked for the Pudding Club Night - 6 different puddings all excellent! The room was clean and comfortable and the mini bar a welcome addition since our last visit. All this and a well kept cellar too. We love the friendly relaxed atmosphere at The Crown and would have no hesitation in recommending it and will certainly return again soon.
