Harvey Nichols Second Floor Brasserie

21 New Cathedral Street, MANCHESTER, M1 1AD

1 rosettes

Overlooking Exchange Square and the hustle and bustle of retail action in this central part of the city, the slick, contemporary second-floor brasserie provides a rather glamorous respite. An all-day menu increases its usefulness, so you can pop in for brunch, afternoon tea, or stick around to get the measure of the kitchen's brasserie-style output. Cocktails in the bar are a whole other kind of distraction. Start with duck liver parfait topped with hazelnuts, take in a 20th-century classic such as chicken Caesar salad, and follow with pan-fried stone bass with a rustic salsa verde, or a steak cooked in the Josper oven.
