The joint venture at Stamford Bridge between the mercurial Marco Pierre White and Chelsea FC proprietor Roman Abramovich has resulted in a high-glitz venue complete with valets on hand in the evenings to park your 550 Maranello for you. An orange and black colour scheme is preferred to anything predictably Chelsea-blue, and neither is the food too inappropriately fussy, but consists instead of Marco's well-trodden route of French brasserie dishes cooked with precision from quality materials. Start with a strong goal-kick starter such as herb-dressed Cornish crab mayonnaise, or Billy By mussel soup cooked to the recipe from Maxim's of Paris, before playing through the midfield with Dover sole and any of its sauce variations. Finish with caramelised apple pie, and the ball is in the back of the net.
