Jason Court, 76 Wigmore Street, LONDON, W1U 2SJ

1 rosettes

Levant brings the authentic flavours of the Middle East to Wigmore Street, along with an exotic decor of rich fabrics, carved wood, candlelight and lamps. Choose a succession of grazing-sized plates to share, starting perhaps with soujok (spicy Armenian sausage with tomatoes, parsley and garlic), or deep-fried squid with sumac. Freshly cooked meat dishes are succulent and full of flavour, from a skewer of grilled minced lamb with herbs, onions and spices to a pastry case of chicken, onions and pine nuts. Vegetarians get a good deal, with tabouleh and grilled haloumi, served with tomatoes, green olives and mint, among the options. Finish with Baklava, fresh fruit and Turkish delight.
