La Trouvaille

As its name implies, La Trouvaille is quite the Soho find, set among the cobbled pedestrian lanes and boutiques off Carnaby Street. The chic ground floor wine bar serves mainly organic/biodynamic French wines alongside foie gras, charcuterie and cheese platters, while the light, bright and elegant dining room is upstairs. Check out the white linen, perspex chairs, striking mirrors, stripped floorboards and tall windows - the perfect setting for some unconventional French cooking. Thoughtful but easygoing invention combines with well-sourced ingredients to produce the likes of seared tuna slices with vanilla dressing and smoked garlic purée, or fillet of Herdwick mutton and seared scallops with braised lettuce, cauliflower mash and cardamom sauce.
