32-34 Monmouth Street, Seven Dials, Covent Garden, LONDON, WC2H 9HA

2 rosettes

With elbow-to-elbow tables, big Kiwi artworks, fashionable seating and a bar for dining and cocktails, Kopapa is the complete ticket, its globetrotting fusion food just right for sharing, and delivered all day. Witness a not-to-be-missed crispy tempura 'pocket' filled with high-kicking spiced dhal inari that comes counterbalanced by caramelised coconut and cooling pickled green papaya 'spaghetti', or perhaps try pan-fried scallops with sweet chilli sauce and crème fraîche. Elsewhere, larger offerings might feature succulent lamb rump satay with a taro root rösti, pak choi, rosemary, miso and peanut sauce. Desserts (like coffees) are top drawer too: perhaps a tropical-esque alphonso mango and coconut pannacotta served in a sublime kiwi gazpacho.
